Jalfrezi is a type of South Asian curry which involves frying marinated pieces of paneer in oil and spices to produce a dry, thick sauce.


200g paneer (diced ½”)
2 tablespoons of onion chopped finely and 2 tablespoons chopped chunky
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon cumin
1 tablespoon of oil, 2 tablespoons tinned chopped tomato
Chilli and salt
Coriander leaves for garnish


Gently fry the paneer in the oil until it begins to colour
Remove the paneer and set aside. In the remaining oil fry onions and the paste until the onions begin to brown
Add onions, tomatoes and cumin
Then add the powdered spices and cook for 2 min
Add the paneer and cook gently for 3 min
Garnish with coriander
