A simple rice dish that will accompany any indian dish.


1 cup of basmati rice
2 cups of water
Pinch of salt
¼ teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon cumin seed
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoons of petit pois


Gently fry the cumin and add the rice
Turn the rice to ensure its coated with oil
Add the water and bring to the boil without stirring the rice
Turn the heat as low as possible and cover
Rice should cook in 12 to 14 min, check to see all the water has been absorbed
When cooked add the peas
